Following news of the voluntary administration of Aridol’s Australian manufacturer and the subsequent stock issues, clinics unable to obtain Aridol (mannitol) have approached Bird Healthcare about methacholine challenge testing. We have subsequently seen a significant increase in demand for AeroEclipse II BAN (Breath Actuated Nebuliser) options.
We are in the process of arranging additional stock for the Australian market. If your clinic requires supply of this product, we ask you please advise your anticipated quantities and timeframes so we can coordinate with the manufacturer and plan sufficient stock across all services.
We would also like to inform you of possible other options that may suit your requirements:
- Ganshorn Provo X – Provo X can be used as a standalone system, added to a SpiroScout, or integrated with existing Ganshorn systems. Challenge protocols can be configured by the end user and customised to align with established/published protocols.
- Ganshorn Eucapsys – A system for performing Eucapnic Voluntary Hyperpnoea (EVH) challenge testing.
- echamber Nebuliser Pro – Suitable for the delivery of aerosolised challenge agents – Independently assessed across multiple medications including Hypertonic Saline.
- AeroEclipse II or XL BAN with Ombra Compressor – Complete Nebuliser system providing another option for aerosol delivery during challenge testing. Clinical Data available in relation to MCT (methacholine challenge test).
Our focus is supporting clinics to maintain testing and continuity of patient care during this disruption, until there is hopefully a recommencement of Aridol production in the near future.
